Our wood floors are fully customized to your specifications. We’re a small manufacturer offering over-the-top customer service to help you choose the perfect wood flooring for your home and lifestyle. Step 1: Select Your Wood Species:

Red Oak

Red Oak is the most popular hardwood flooring choice in the US and is perfect for anywhere you want a beautiful, authentic, and natural aesthetic.

White Oak

Cherry

Ash

Strong and durable, Ash is known for its swirling grain pattern. Its naturally light hues are an excellent fit for neutral home aesthetics and are easily stained.

Step 2: Select Your Wood Age:

Young, Old, or a Little Bit of Both

Younger Wood

Younger wood consist of less character and is usually more uniform in color within planks. Younger wood is typically taken from the outermost lumber in the log. Knots displayed in the younger wood grade are smaller than a nickel in size, and only appear occasionally.

Older Wood

The wood located in the center of a log displays the characteristics throughout the tree's life. Limbs that and are overcome by new wood are now displayed as a knots throughout the lumber. Older grade flooring has little restriction on knot size or color uniformity between planks.

Mixture of Both

Can't decide between young & old? Mix & match younger wood and older wood to create a truly unique flooring look for your home. We'll work with you to achieve the effect you're looking for to ensure that you're thrilled with the final product.

Step 3: Customize Your Selection:

Wire Brushing

Wire brushing removes some of the softer spring wood which provides depth and texture to the grain, resulting in a highlighted grain throughout the wood. Wire Brushing is only available in the younger grade of Red and White Oak. Varying degrees of texture are available.

Hand Scraped

All species can be hand scraped, offering an authentic hand hewed appearance throughout the flooring. Each plank is authentically hand scraped by skilled craftsmen. We can vary the texture and intensity from a light scrape to a deeper, more pronounced, scrape of faces and edges.

Pinned Ends

Walnut pins can be applied to the ends of the plank for a truly distinctive look of early centuries. Available in 4” and greater width plank sizes.

Customized Wood Flooring Mountain Craft Wide Plank Saw Marks and Cut

Saw Marks & Cut

Add a bit of rustic to any combination of flooring with the optional texture of saw marks within the lumber. Clients wishing to fulfill this option can choose between a circular saw or band-saw marks. We also sell premium quarter-sawn or rift-sawn red and white oak.

Antique

The antique line created by Mountain Craft will satisfy any client’s desire for a rustic look in their wood flooring. Our craftsmen apply wear and stress marks throughout the entire surface of each plank. Customizations such as names, dates(s), or phrases can be added to the antique option.

Step 4: Choose Your Finish

Custom Spray Finish

Available in custom stain colors or as a natural finish. Provides a durable, low-maintenance finish in a variety of sheen options.

Hand-Rubbed Oil Finish

Our pre-finished hand-rubbed hard wax oil finish from Rubio Monocoat accentuates the character and beauty of each plank through natural oils and waxes. Available in a pure (clear) option or endless custom stain options.

Step 5: Choose Your Width:

Board Widths

Customize your plank width from 3-8". Choose a single-width option (all 6", for example) or a mixed-width option (i.e. 6,7,8".)
